She’s A 10 was founded on May 16, 2019, by Shawnte Smith, a proud NYC native, in honor of her mother, her greatest inspiration. Shawnte’s lifelong passion has been helping women gain a sense of self and confidently embrace their individuality. As a Paul Mitchell graduate, Shawnte honed her expertise in cosmetology and gained invaluable experience working in retail, salons, photoshoots, events (including Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week), weddings, music videos, and alongside stylists and celebrities such as Robin Givens and Victor Willis, among others.
Shawnte’s rich experiences shaped her sharp eye for fashion and her ability to translate her unique sense of style into wardrobe choices. Over time, her reputation for offering realistic and attainable style advice to friends, family, models, photographers, and celebrities blossomed, inspiring her to turn her passion into a thriving online store. She’s A 10 now proudly serves #Tens across the United States and continues to make waves in the fashion industry.
